I Love a Blog Hop! And OMG!!!! With my second fave manufacturer - after Lindys of course!
This is just the BEST way to check out all the amazing artists out there and go in the running to WIN something too! BONUS!

So it's no secret that I love Stencil Girl ... you all know I have been a member of their Stencil Club for years and have a RIDICULOUS amount of their stencils in my collection - in fact - I even sell them in my little shop!  So when Lindys & Stencil Girl hooked up - its a total match made in heaven for me!

So where do I start with creating a project?
I wanted to create something a little different that showcased the stencils and with a few of my fave Lindys colours!
So here is a bright mini journal ... full of colour and texture!

There is a little tutorial over on my You Tube if you want a look and get all the step by step details...

But this is the breakdown in pictures ... (actually grab a cuppa - there are HEAPS of pics - I didn't want to leave any out!)

One lucky winner will receive both a $25 Gift Certificate to Lindy’s Gang
AND a $25 Gift Certificate to StencilGirl Products!

Believe in Miracles with Lindys

Hey there gang!
Today I am sharing a page I created using the colours from the NEW April challenge – what a great idea – a feature colour every month FREE with all orders over $50 – who needs a better incentive to expand your range of Lindys!!!!  So this month is all about earthier, metallic colours – some of my fave to work  with.
I created this page using some papers from 7Dots & Blue Fern plus stencils from Stencil Girl and some super simple techniques.
Here are a few of the simple steps … plus I have filmed a short video for you to watch where I talk you through the process! It’s surprisingly easy!
I always start with testing the colours I am planning on using – this makes creating faster and you can create with more confidence this way.
After adhering the papers to the cardstock, I applied a thin coat of Clear Gesso to the paper and then used four colours and a stencil to enhance the design.  I used Golden Dubloons, Incandescent Copper, Poinciana Red Flame and Cowabunga Copper.
I added some Imaginarium Designs Chipboard to the layout but gave it a spray with Incandescent Copper & Poinciana Red Flame first.
I took some flowers from my stash, used washi tape to wrap the stamens then layered on some colour so they would suit the page better … the washi tape protects the colour of the stamens while spraying – remove it after adding colour.
The last thing I did was use Cleopatra’s Copper to double emboss the chipboard title – LOVE the beautiful thick coat of embossing powder – such a gorgeous finish.
Here are a few close ups for you to enjoy .

  • 7Dots Studios, Blue Fern, Prima, Stencil Girl, Distress inks, Imaginarium Designs
  • Mediums: Clear Gesso

March Color Wheel Love

Oh My Goodness ... Have you seen how gorgeous the March Colour Challenge is ... so pretty and bright ... perfect for this idea I had to get out of my head!

I love the colour wheel - in fact if you ask anyone who has been to any of my classes ... I waffle on about it ALL THE TIME ... so I wanted to embrace that in this layout!

These colours worked pretty well together and I couldn't wait to have a play - but first I needed a circle!
Out of the 7.5 million stamps I own I dont have a Colour Wheel or a Pie Chart so I had to draw one!
Hmmm .... stop ... panic slightly .... rethink .... ok ... Trace the rolls of tape in front of me - PERFECT!
Next I dragged out ALL of the black pens I own - which is just under 7.5 million - and tested which ones didn't run with water - which I established was quite a few but I went with the Pentel PermaBall. I then drew over the pencilled circles and used a ruler to draw the lines in... Done!

Now the colour ... I'm using Marshmallow Cardstock which holds liquid really well ... and gave the area a little water mist first then carefully added the first colour - because the paper is wet, the colour moves around and allows you to add in the second colour. Too easy!

I've whipped up a little Video tutorial if you want to have a look --- Head Over to my You Tube

So have a go this month - the colours are divine!

Lindys Products ... Luminous Lemon, Luscious Lime, Hi Maintenance Magenta, Witches Potion Purple, C'est la vie Cerise

Love Natalie

Teal = My Fave Color

This month over at Imaginarium Designs, the team is playing with Teal!

Here is my project...

Teal is a very important colour to me - It's the Colour for Ovarian Cancer. I am a survivor of Ovarian Cancer. I am nearly in remission and thankful everyday that I beat the odds and came out the other side. This page is simple but powerful for me - I am Happy!
I used Lindys Stamp Gang sprays in Tibetan Poppy Teal, Tainted Love Teal and T-Bird Turquoise to colour the backgound and the gave the chipboard a generous spray using Tibetan Poppy Teal and Tainted Love Teal. The chipboard words are coloured with a black posca to get a nice rich coverage. The chipboard I have chosen is also part of the journey - it was all designed by me!

Head over to ID and check out the rest of the projects and enter to win some great chipboard
